La Clínica está ubicada en un lugar muy céntrico de Gangnam, es fácil de llegar hasta allá. Queda muy cerca del departamento que la misma clínica provee durante la estadía de una hasta el primer control. Es una clínica amplia, iluminada, muy limpia, con horarios flexibles de atención para el post operatorio. El inmobiliario es muy cómodo, disponen de café y té para que una se pueda servir. Y, no te dejan esperando. Todo funciona de acuerdo a lo agendado. Los procedimientos sugeridos por VG Plastic Surgery fueron los que más me gustaron y vi que tenían buenas críticas online, así que concerté una consulta.\n\nConsulta: En la consulta, se tomaron varias fotos con el fin de analizar la cirugía y lo que funcionaría mejor para mí. El médico sugirió un lifting sub-ceja para mi piel de los párpados caídos, un lifting facial plano profundo y un lifting medio facial para hacer frente a la pérdida de volumen y la flacidez junto con un injerto de grasa para restaurar el volumen de mis mejillas, y una blefaroplastia inferior para hacer frente a la oquedad debajo de mis ojos junto con el edema malar. Trabajé con Smile, una de las asesoras que me ayudó mucho y me explicó todo, incluidas todas las opciones y los precios. Ella era muy profesional, pero cálido, que es una de las razones por las que decidí ir con VG sobre otras clínicas.\n\nRevisión preoperatoria: Unos días antes de mi cirugía, fui a un chequeo donde me hicieron una radiografía de tórax y un análisis de sangre para asegurarse de que mi cuerpo estaba lo suficientemente sano para la cirugía. Al final pude tomar agua, luego leche de soja y, por último, gachas de avena cuando estuve lista. Lily y Smile vinieron a verme varias veces para asegurarse de que todo iba bien y traducirme.\n\nAl día siguiente, antes de salir del hospital, me quitaron las vendas y la Dra. Im vino a verme para asegurarse de que todo había ido bien. Lily, Smile y otra asesora, Jenny, estaban allí para interpretar y asegurarse de que yo estaba bien.  Me quitaron el catéter y limpiaron las incisiones, sustituyéndolas por vendas limpias. También hice un tratamiento de oxígeno en una cámara hiperbárica, que fue muy relajante. Volví a casa en taxi con el apoyo de Smile.\n\nUn momento de miedo: Una cosa que me dio un poco de miedo fue que no estaba preparada para lo mucho que se me iban a hinchar los ojos después de la operación. Sentía que se me reventaban las vendas (y la enfermera me ayudó a aliviar parte de la presión) y cuando me miré al día siguiente de la operación, no estaba preparada para lo que vi. Se me reventaron las venas de los ojos, que se pusieron completamente rojos y se me hincharon tanto que apenas podía ver. Esto me asustó, ya que no lo había visto en ninguno de los vídeos que había visto antes al investigar. El personal me aseguró que era normal y que volvería a bajar, pero supongo que diría que durante los primeros 2-3 días después de la cirugía, estaba bastante preocupada de que algo fuera mal. El ungüento que me aplicaban para mantener limpias las incisiones también me cubría los ojos de vez en cuando y me nublaba la vista, lo que me asustaba, pero el asesor me aseguró que sólo se debía a la medicación.\n\nVolví a la clínica al cabo de tres días para una revisión y para que me limpiaran las incisiones y vaciaran los drenajes de sangre. Cada vez que acudía a la clínica, me administraban un tratamiento de oxígeno y me hacían varias fotos para documentarme. Cuando me bajó la hinchazón de los ojos, mi recuperación progresó rápidamente. Tuve más visitas (a los 7 días, a los 10 días, a los 14 días y luego a las 3 semanas) para quitarme puntos y drenajes y controlar mi evolución. A los 7 días me lavaron el pelo gratuitamente, lo que fue muy relajante y un gran alivio. También llevé un vendaje en la cabeza para evitar que mi cara se moviera demasiado durante un mes. A veces me la quitaba para dormir porque me apretaba, pero intentaba llevarla puesta durante el día.\n\n\nConclusión: Ahora estoy 5 meses después de la operación, y estoy muy contento con mis resultados. Siento que mis preocupaciones fueron abordadas, y que me veo más joven y fresca, pero todavía como yo misma, que siempre fue el objetivo de esta cirugía para mí. Siento un vigor renovado y como si me pareciera a la persona que siempre he sido, si eso tiene sentido. A veces sigo teniendo algo de hinchazón debajo de los ojos, sobre todo cuando he acumulado retención de líquidos o estoy muy cansada, y todavía estoy trabajando para encontrar la causa/solución de esto. Creo que está relacionado con el drenaje linfático, así que entiendo que la cirugía no pudo corregir totalmente este problema, aunque siento que está mejor que antes.\n\nPor encima de todo, sólo quería decir que recomiendo VG por la maravillosa consideración, amabilidad y apoyo que recibí allí. Muchas gracias a VG Surgery y a su personal.\n\nTambién me gustaría dar las gracias a Bookimed por ayudarme a encontrar esta clínica y darme la información que necesitaba para tomar mi decisión.","en":"I would like to share my experience with BookiMed and their recommmendation, VG (Very Good) Plastic Surgery. \n\nDoctor: Dr. Im Young Min\n\nProcedures: Deep plane facelift, mid-face lift with fat graft, sub-brow lift, lower blepharoplasty\n\nReferral: I had been wanting to get this surgery for quite a long time, but didn't know which clinic would be best, so I applied to Bookimed who gave me several quotes/recommendations based on my needs. I liked the procedures suggested by VG Plastic Surgery the best and I saw that they had good reviews online, so I set up a consultation. \n\nConsultation: At the consultation, several photos were taken in order to analyze the surgery and what would work best for me. The doctor suggested a sub-brow lift for my sagging eyelid skin, a deep plane facelift and a midface lift to address the loss of volume and sagging along with a fat graft to restore the volume to my cheeks, and a lower blepharoplasty to address the hollowness under my eyes along with the malar edema. I worked with Smile, one of the consultants who was very helpful and went over everything with me including all of the options and prices. She was very professional but warm, which is one reason that I decided to go with VG over other clinics.\n\nPre-Surgery Check-up: A few days before my surgery, I went in for a checkup where they did a chest x-ray and a blood test to make sure my body was healthy enough for the surgery. I met with Dr. Im, my surgeon, to go over the plan for the surgery and make sure everything was in place. I met another consultant, Lily, who interpreted everything for me and made sure that everything was clear and comfortable for me. \n\nSurgery: The day of surgery, I did an interview about the procedure and how I was feeling prior to the surgery as well as taking several \"before\" photos to use as comparison. I had also fasted for 8 hours (food and water). The surgery was very smooth, but I believe it lasted a long time- between 6-8 hours as there were many procedures being done. I had to have a breathing tube, which was quite uncomfortable for the first 12 hours after surgery, but I was glad that the doctors took every precaution. They also put in drains in my neck and inside my mouth to keep blood and fluid from pooling under my skin as well as a catheter. \n\nPost-Surgery: After surgery, I was taken to a private room for recovery. I stayed in the room for about 24 hours and the nurses took very good care of me, coming in to replace the ice packs for my face, check on my catheter and incisions and just making sure I was comfortable. I was eventually able to have water, then some soy milk, and finally some porridge when I was ready. Lily and Smile checked on me several times to be sure everything was alright and to translate for me.\n\nThe next day before leaving the hospital, the bandages were removed and Dr. Im came in and checked on me to make sure that everything had gone well. Lily, Smile and another consultant, Jenny, were there to interpret and to make sure I was alright.  They removed the catheter and cleaned the incisions, replacing them with clean bandages. I also did an oxygen treatment in a hyperbaric chamber, which was very relaxing. I took a taxi home with Smile's support.\n\nScary Moment: One thing that happened that was a bit scary for me was that I wasn't prepared for how much my eyes would swell up after the surgery. I felt like my bandages were bursting (and the nurse helped me to relieve some of the pressure) and when I looked at myself the day after the surgery, I wasn't prepared for what I saw. The veins in my eyes burst, making them completely red and my eyes swelled up so much I could barely see. This was scary for me as I had not seen this in any of the videos I had watched prior when doing my research. The staff assured me it was normal and that it would go back down, but I guess I'd say that for the first 2-3 days after the surgery, I was pretty worried that something was wrong. The ointment I was applying to keep the incisions clean also coated my eyes from time to time blurring my vision, which was scary, but the consultant assured me this was only because of the medication. \n\nI went back to the clinic after 3 days for a check-up and to have my incisions cleaned and the blood drains emptied. Each time I visited the clinic, I was given an oxygen treatment and several photos were taken for documentation. After the swelling in my eyes went down, my recovery progressed quickly. I had more visits (at 7 days, 10 days, 14 days and then 3 weeks) to remove stitches and drains and to monitor my progress. At 7 days, I was given a complimentary hair wash as well, which was very relaxing and such a relief. I also wore a head brace/wrap to keep my face from moving around too much for about a month. I did take it off to sleep at times because it felt tight, but I tried to keep it on during the day for the most part.\n\n\nConclusion: I am now 5 months post-op, and I am very happy with my results. I feel that my concerns were addressed, and that I look younger and fresher, but still like myself, which was always the goal of this surgery for me. I feel a renewed vigor and like I look like the person I have always been, if that makes sense. I still have some puffiness under my eyes at times, especially when I have built up fluid retention or am very tired, and I am still working to find the cause/solution for this. I believe it is related to lymphatic drainage, so I understand that the surgery could not fully correct this issue, although I do feel like it is better than before. \n\nMost of all, I just wanted to say that I recommend VG because of the wonderful consideration, kindness, and support that I received there. From the way that the consultants went out of their way to help and support me, not just through translation, but by encouraging me and helping me, to the care the nurses gave me, to the skill that Dr. Im and his staff in the operating room showed, I am very happy. The scars from my incisions are unnoticeable and will most likely become completely invisible with time, and I feel that my surgery goals were reached. Lilith and the the girls were amazing, Lilith helped be to the hotel nearby after my 2 day stay at the surgical hospital and she helped me with exchanging my money to pay my hotel bill because my Credit Union was blocking my use of my credit card.  I recommend anyone from outside of Korea to make sure they have an account with a larger bank before getting surgery in another country.  I can’t say how much I needed and got reassurance from the staff with removal of my stitches and just how conscientious the staff was that I would be as comfortable as possible.  Dr Kim Yong Woo always asked if I had any questions and spend the time before and after surgery to make sure all my questions were answered.
