El Dr. Uygur es un urólogo internacional con un título médico y un título de médico de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de Hacettepe, una beca de investigación del Laboratorio de Trasplantes de la Universidad de Helsinki y una residencia en Urología de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de Hacettepe. Tiene más de 300 publicaciones y presentaciones internacionales y nacionales, con 781 citas científicas a 41 artículos. Es miembro de pleno derecho de la Asociación Europea de Urología, miembro correspondiente de la Asociación Estadounidense de Urología, miembro de la Sociedad de Oncología Urológica y miembro de la junta de la Sociedad Turca de Oncología Urológica.
