In 2007, I graduated from Trakya University, Faculty of Medicine and received the title of “Medical Doctor”. In the same year, as a result of the TUS exam I took, I started my specialization training at Istanbul University, Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, Department of Cardiovascular Surgery.

During my specialization training, in 2010, I worked as a guest doctor at “Lenox Hill Hospital, Aortic Wellness Center” in New York, USA, on aortic valve-preserving surgery, aortic root surgery, aortic arch surgery, thoracoabdominal aortic surgery and robotic heart surgery.

In 2013, I worked as a “fellow” at the “Landeskrankenhaus Salzburg, Paracelsus Universitätsklinik für Gefäßchirurgie und endovaskuläre Chirurgie” clinic in Salzburg, Austria, and conducted studies on endovascular and advanced vascular surgery techniques.

In 2013, I worked as a visiting physician at the “Vita-Salute University, Scientific Institute, Ospedale San Raffaele, dipartimento di chirurgia vascolare ed endovascolare” clinic in Milan, Italy, on endovascular techniques, advanced vascular techniques and surgical treatment of thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms.

In 2013, I completed my assistant training and earned the title of “Cardiovascular Surgery Specialist”.

As of 2014, I started working as a “Specialist Doctor” at the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, Ondokuz Mayıs University.

In 2016, I received the title of “Assistant Professor Doctor”. In the same year, I received the “Certificate of Proficiency” issued by the “Turkish Cardiovascular Surgery Qualification Board”.

In 2017, I worked as a visiting doctor for 3 months at the “Landeskrankenhaus Nürnberg, Paracelsus Universitätsklinik für Gefäßchirurgie und endovaskuläre Chirurgie” clinic in Nuremberg, Germany, on advanced endovascular (FEVAR, BEVAR, CHEVAR, EVAR, TEVAR) techniques in aortic diseases.

El Dr. Antonio Benita Bordes es un cirujano cardiovascular y torácico de gran prestigio en México, con una carrera profesional centrada en el tratamiento quirúrgico de enfermedades cardíacas y pulmonares tanto en adultos como en pacientes pediátricos. Su formación médica ha sido exhaustiva y abarca desde la cirugía general hasta especializaciones avanzadas en cardiocirugía pediátrica y torácica. A continuación, se presenta un desarrollo detallado de su formación académica, especialidades clínicas, logros profesionales y su participación en el ámbito académico y en instituciones de prestigio.

1. Formación Académica y Especializaciones

El Dr. Benita Bordes se graduó de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), una de las instituciones de educación médica más reconocidas del país. Posteriormente, realizó su especialización en cirugía general en el Hospital Ángeles Pedregal, un hospital privado de alta especialidad ubicado en la Ciudad de México. Su deseo de avanzar en el campo de la cirugía cardiovascular lo llevó a continuar su formación en el Instituto Nacional de Cardiología Ignacio Chávez (INCICH), uno de los centros más importantes para el tratamiento de enfermedades cardíacas en México, donde completó su especialización en cirugía cardiotorácica.

Su enfoque en enfermedades cardíacas congénitas lo llevó a realizar una subespecialización en cirugía de malformaciones congénitas del corazón en el INCICH, institución en la que actualmente está adscrito como cirujano y profesor titular del curso de cirugía cardiotorácica pediátrica. 

Esta formación adicional le ha permitido tratar a niños con enfermedades cardíacas congénitas complejas, lo que ha sido clave para su reputación como uno de los principales cirujanos pediátricos en esta especialidad​.

2. Trayectoria Clínica y Cirugías Especializadas

El Dr. Benita Bordes se ha especializado en cirugía cardiovascular y torácica, con un enfoque particular en la cirugía cardíaca infantil. Dentro de su práctica, ha realizado una variedad de cirugías complejas, incluyendo la reconstrucción de aneurismas periféricos, la reparación de coartación de aorta, la resección de costillas en casos de síndrome de salida torácica, y la sutura de esternón en pacientes que requieren estabilización del tórax después de cirugías cardíacas.

Entre los procedimientos en los que es experto, se encuentran la cirugía de cardiopatías congénitas, tanto con como sin circulación extracorpórea (CEC), lo que lo convierte en un especialista en el tratamiento de condiciones como comunicaciones auriculoventriculares, atresia tricuspídea, aneurismas de la aorta torácica, y la anomalía de Ebstein, entre otras​. 

Asimismo, realiza cirugías de arritmias y ofrece soporte cardiopulmonar a pacientes que requieren intervenciones quirúrgicas de alto riesgo.

The prof. Giuseppe Speziale holds the positions of the National Coordinator of Cardiac Surgery of GVM Care & Research, the Director of the Department of Cardiac Surgery at Anthea Hospital and Città di Lecce Hospital, and Director of the Department of Cardiac Surgery of the Santa Maria Hospital. He works at the Cardiological Clinical Institute (ICC) and San Carlo di Nancy Hospital in Rome. Since 2011 he has also held the position of Vice President of GVM Care & Research. In 2012 he occupied the charge of President of Confindustria Puglia, Health Section, and since 2018 he is Vice President of Aiop Puglia (Italian association of private hospitals). The prof. Speziale is a cardiac surgeon specializing in the minimally invasive surgical treatment of valve diseases, expert in minimally invasive repair of the mitral valve, in On and Off Pump myocardial revascularization, in thoracic aortic surgery. He is Co - Founder and President of the Scientific Committee of Mitral Academy, an independent association born from the passion for mitral surgery and the desire to pursue and share excellence in restorative surgery, with particular attention to minimally invasive techniques and the evaluation of potential therapeutic treatments deriving from the use of new technologies. Until 2016 he was elected Director of the Italian Society of Cardiac Surgery. Dr. Sangiorgi graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1990 from the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”.

He then specialized in Cardiology  at the same University in 1990. He held the role of  Fellow in Interventional Cardiology  and  Research  Associate  at the Haemodynamics Laboratory of the Mayo Clinic and Foundation in Rochester (USA) from 1991 to 1998.

Back in Italy, he became Assistant at the Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology Laboratory of the San Donato Polyclinic Institute from 1998 to 2002, while from 2003 to 2009 he was Co-Director at the Columbus Heart Center and the Hemodynamics Laboratory of the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan. Between 2009 and 2011 he worked as Head of the Hemodynamics Laboratory of the Modena Polyclinic, while in the following three years he worked at the Casilino Polyclinic  in Rome. Scientific Activity

Dr. Sangiorgi's scientific activity mainly concerns the pathology and physiopathology of the cardiovascular system, with particular reference to coronary and carotid atherosclerotic disease and restenosis after interventional procedures. Furthermore, Dr. Sangiorgi has constantly dealt with issues related to interventional cardiology with particular reference to the medium and long-term results of the use of various platforms of implantable medical devices.

In carrying out these activities he used anatomo-pathological, histochemical and ultrastructural methods. He also dedicated himself particularly to morphometric techniques applied to cardiovascular pathology.

Since September 1993 he has had the opportunity to dedicate himself, at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester (USA), in the Laboratory of Experimental Interventional Cardiology directed by Dr. Robert Schwartz, to the study of the morphology, physiopathology and pathology of restenosis and vascular remodeling mechanical revascularization interventions.

His research focuses on the following main themes:

• Application of morphometric techniques to experimental and human cardiovascular pathology

The research carried out mainly concerned the development of new methods:

1. for the evaluation of smooth muscle cells in the arterial wall during hypertension
2. for the evaluation of the optical density of histological preparations and tissues and for the morphometric evaluation of the size and shape of the nucleus using image analyzers

4. on the application of quantitative immunohistochemical techniques

• From February 1998 to January 2003 he carried out his healthcare and research activities as an assistant at the Hemodynamics Laboratory of the San Donato Polyclinic Institute, directed by Prof. Luigi Inglese.
• Since September 1998 he has held the position of Researcher at the Department of Internal Medicine of the II University of Rome “Tor Vergata” for the disciplinary sector MED/11 Diseases of the Cardiovascular System.  Awards and Recognitions

In 1998 he received the third prize as “ Young Researcher ” from the American Heart Association  for the discovery  of cellular apoptosis in aortic valves  in patients affected by aortic stenosis and the first prize from the  Italian Society of Cardiology  as “Young Researcher” for the discovery of a  new serum marker for the risk of STROKE  in December 2001.

Dr. Ahmed then, traveled to the Italian city of Modena to prepare the Fellowship of Interventional Cardiology and Endovascular therapy from the University of Modena and Reggo Emelia, where he was appointed as a lecturer for postgraduate students, in Interventional Cardiology. Then he traveled to Milan, Italy, in 2012 to prepare a fellowship in structural heart diseases.

The Journey continues to the Japanese city of Tokyo in the year 2013 to start training in the field of chronic total coronary oclusions and complex interventions. Finally, he returned to Cairo in 2013, where he obtained a doctorate degree in the field of cardiovascular medicine from Ain Shams University.

Dr. Ahmed attended many international medical conferences and was a lecturer in several important international forums.

He contributed to publishing important books, articles and medical research in international magazines.

Dr. Krishna Iyer is one of India's front ranking paediatric cardiac surgeons, recognised for his clinical expertise and wide ranging involvement with cardiac care for children in India and other developing nations, Dr. Iyer initiated the first dedicated paediatric cardiac care program in Northern India , a pioneering initiative, at Escorts Heart Institute Research Centre( now Fortis-Escorts Heart Institute ) in 1995. Under his guidance this paediatric cardiac program has become the benchmark for cardiac care for children for India and its South East Asian neighbours. Dr. Iyer has operated on more than 10,000 babies, children and adults with congenital heart diseases comprising various procedures like arterial switch procedure, double switch operation TAPVC repairs, Fontan and Fontan type procedures, corrections for tetralogy of Fallot, DORV, Truncus etc. Senning operation, conduit repairs and wide range of one stage and multi-stage corrections for complex congenital heart diseases. He has done original work on rapid two-stage arterial switch procedure and performed the first successful rapid two stage arterial switch and double-switch operation in India. His current interests are perfecting complex neonatal cardiac surgery, cardiac surgery in malnourished infants and children, salvaging late presenters of congenital heart disease, and developing cost effective cardiac care for children in developing countries. After basic training, he joined the Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at AIIMS and was Additional Professor at the time he moved to Escorts Heart Institute to set up its paediatric cardiac care division. He trained in paediatric and infant cardiac surgery under the guidance of the renowned paediatric cardiac surgeon Dr. R.B.B.Mee as Senior Fellow at the Department of Paediatric Cardiac Surgery at Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne in Australia in 1989. He is involved in many charities for underprivileged children, most notably the 'Gift of Life' program of Rotary International.

El Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Helmy es un cirujano cardíaco altamente experimentado con más de 25 años de experiencia en cirugía cardíaca para adultos, injerto de derivación de la arteria coronaria, revascularización arterial, cirugía de raíz aórtica, aneurisma aórtico, cirugía y reparación de válvulas y cirugía cardíaca mínimamente invasiva.
