El Dr. Koray Karabulut es especialista en cirugía general en el Hospital Memorial Göztepe (2025–). Su enfoque es la cirugía HPB (hepatopancreatobiliar), el trasplante hepático y la cirugía robótica o mínimamente invasiva. Fue el especialista responsable del Centro de Trasplante Hepático de la Universidad de Fırat (2014–2018). Luego trabajó como especialista en trasplante de órganos en Memorial Şişli (2018–2019). En 2024, trabajó en cirugía HPB robótica en Ageo Medical Center.

Entre los aspectos destacados de su formación se incluye HPB mínimamente invasiva en IRCAD (2015). Realizó una beca de investigación en Cleveland Clinic sobre tumores hepáticos y cirugía laparoscópica-robótica (2010–2011). También completó la formación en trasplante hepático en el Instituto de la Universidad de İnönü (2011–2012). Obtuvo el título de médico y finalizó la residencia en cirugía general en la Universidad de Estambul. Fue nombrado profesor asociado en 2013. Su trabajo académico incluye artículos revisados por pares en J Gastrointest Surg, Surgery y Surg Endosc. Ha escrito capítulos de libros de cirugía. Es autor de guías para la Sociedad de Cirugía de Turquía y formó parte de comités editoriales (2011–2016).
