He graduated from Gülhane Military Medical Academy in 1990. In 1991, he took a course in Aviation and Space Medicine and Physiology in Eskişehir Aviation and Space Medicine Center. He worked as a flight doctor between 1990-1993. He received his specialization in Pediatric Health and Diseases from the Department of Pediatrics at Gülhane Military Medical Academy between 1993-1997. He worked as a paediatrician at Güzelyalı Air Hospital between 1997-1999. He worked as an assistant professor at the Department of Pediatrics at Gülhane Military Medical Academy between 1999-2002. He worked as a research fellow at the University of South Florida College of Medicine Department of Pediatrics between 2002-2003. He worked as an assistant professor at Gülhane Military Medical Academy between 2006-2011. He became an associate professor in 2011 and a full professor in 2018. Between 1975-1978, Prof. Dr. Koçak worked as a faculty member in the Pediatric Nephrology department at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, and between 1978-1982, he worked at the university hospital as an "Associate Professor". Between 1982-1992, he worked as a faculty member at Samsun 19 Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine Hospital and obtained the title of "Professor" in 1989.
Between 1993-1998, Prof. Dr. Koçak worked as a Pediatric Nephrology Unit Specialist at Ankara Social Security Institution Pediatric Diseases Specialization Hospital, and between 1999-2013, he worked at MedArt-Akman Medicorium Healthcare Enterprises-Child Health and Diseases Hospital as a Pediatric Nephrology Unit Specialist. He currently continues his professional work at Özel Koru Ankara Hospital.
