Tailandia, Surat Thani

Holina Rehab Thailand is a private residential recovery facility established in December 2019. It sits on Koh Phangan, Thailand, and operates as a licensed medical center. The campus offers a contained environment for addiction and trauma treatment. Amenities include private beach access, two swimming pools, and an on-site gym.

Accreditations and International Standards

The facility is licensed by the Thai Ministry of Public Health. It holds both a Residential Rehab License and an International Residential Rehab License. The clinic also maintains JCI accreditation. All programs follow international addiction treatment standards. An on-site physician and nursing staff provide 24-hour clinical oversight.

Integrated Addiction and Trauma Care

Holina specializes in a Dual Treatment model. This approach addresses addiction and its emotional drivers – like trauma – at the same time. Treatment follows a continuous residential pathway. It begins with assessment and medically supervised detox when needed. Patients then progress through primary care, secondary care, and aftercare planning.

The clinic treats various substance dependencies:

  • Alcohol addiction
  • Opioid dependence, including heroin and fentanyl
  • Stimulant dependence, including cocaine and crystal meth
  • Benzodiazepine addiction
  • Cannabis Use Disorder

Dr. Aviva Wolf leads clinical direction as Consultant Psychiatrist. She brings over 25 years of experience in addiction and Dual Treatment. Dr. Natalie Lindemann serves as clinical director, overseeing trauma-informed care. The psychotherapy team includes Dr. Raphael Jay Adjani and Dr. Adrian Solomon.

Therapeutic Methods and Technology

Psychotherapy sessions form a core part of the daily schedule. Patients receive 4–8 individual therapy sessions every week. The clinical approach combines evidence-based psychotherapy with somatic healing techniques.

Specialists use several clinical modalities:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM)
  • Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE)

Holina offers Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) on-site to support recovery. Patients may also receive IV vitamin drips during detox. Aqua Tuning and sound healing serve as complementary recovery tools.

Residential Programs and Recovery Duration

Stay length is based on clinical assessment, with a minimum commitment of 4 weeks. Most residents stay 6 to 8 weeks. Programs can extend up to 12 weeks for full recovery. Admissions target clients who need immersion away from everyday triggers.

Accommodation options on campus include:

  • Private plunge pool villas
  • Solo deluxe seaview bungalows
  • Beach bungalows and poolside junior suites
  • Economy rooms and gender-specific shared seaview rooms

Aftercare planning is built into the daily residential routine. Every graduate receives a free 45-minute video call weekly for six months. This helps residents carry recovery skills into everyday life. An active alumni community provides ongoing support after discharge.

Services for International Patients

The facility treats guests from Europe, Australia, and the Middle East. Admissions staff provide fluent English support throughout the recovery journey. A single point of contact guides each patient from initial assessment to arrival. The team assists with travel planning and arranges airport pickups on Koh Phangan. Remote clinical assessments help determine the appropriate length of stay.

Making the decision to go to Holina was a big step for me, and looking back now, I’m incredibly grateful that I did. When I arrived, I hadn’t felt like myself for a long time. I’d lost a part of who I was and knew that I needed the time and space to properly focus on myself and make some changes. Holina gave me that opportunity, and I made the decision from the beginning to really throw myself into the experience and get as much from it as I possibly could. For the first time in many months, I can genuinely say that I feel like myself again. I left feeling stronger, clearer, more positive about my future and with a much better understanding of myself. That feeling alone is something I’m incredibly grateful for. One of the most special parts of my time at Holina was the people I met. I made the most amazing friends and shared an experience with them that I don’t think you can fully explain unless you’ve been through it yourself. The friendships, conversations, laughter and support from the people around me became such an important part of my journey, and I know some of those friendships will continue long after Holina. I’m also extremely grateful to the staff who supported me throughout my stay. I especially want to thank Simon, who was there for me from the very beginning. He was consistently kind, patient and supportive, and I always felt that he genuinely cared about me and my wellbeing. During the moments when I found things difficult, having someone who would listen, understand and simply be there made more of a difference than he probably realises. I went to Holina because I knew something in my life needed to change. I came away feeling like I had found myself again, with some amazing memories, incredible friendships and things I’ll carry with me into the next chapter of my life. I’ll always be grateful that I made the decision to go. And a very special thank you to Simon for being such an important part of my journey from the very start ♥️

I recently spent 4 weeks at Holina and had a life-changing experience. Like many, when I arrived, I was truly on my knees and had hit rock bottom--this being my first experience in rehab, I was skeptical, anxious, and confused about how the process would go and whether or not I had chosen the right place to heal. I felt supported immediately both by staff and my peers; even little details, like all staff knowing my name on first meet, and admin processes/communication seamless, made me feel at ease and comfortable. Key takeaways: - The schedule is busy, which personally I need, especially during early recovery... the less time to myself, the better. - I loved the somatic therapy sessions--this was new to me and I truly got a ton of value from it. - Meditation and breath work really is life changing; I've been exposed to this in the past and could never really grasp it, but at Holina, I was able to find moments of presence and observe the power it can offer. - Staff (clinical and support) do really care and it shows. They have lived experience and vested interest in your recovery. I felt very supported throughout my stay. I would've liked to stay longer and certainly would've benefited from doing so, but the 4 weeks I spent taught me so many things and I feel that a new "me" is in motion. I'm extremely grateful to Holina for helping to pull me out of a very dark place. Special thanks to Andrea, Omar, Natalie, Brett, Lydia, Hawk, Jason, Phoenix, Pew, Stefan, and Simon 🙏

Just left Holina after almost 8 weeks of healing, The experience was amazing, I decided to enroll my self and do the work to find my self again. The healing center gave me a wide range of tools and the perfect setup to get back on my path. The staff and facilities gave me a feeling of security, comfort and support more then I can imagine. I would recommend Holina to all people suffering from loss of spirit and lack of a healthy mindsets. I want to thank the staff and clients I met there for the growing and caring experience that I received. With out them I would still feel lost and alone.

I arrived at Holina in January 2026 feeling like a lost soul, struggling with substance and alcohol addiction. At the time, I truly believed I had no hope of getting sober. A friend who had been there before recommended it, so I reached out—and from the very beginning, the process was smooth and reassuring. They explained everything clearly, and the support from the staff and the entire facility was exceptional, truly 5-star. My experience there genuinely changed my life. The holistic approach was incredible and helped me unlock a new part of myself, allowing me to work through trauma and personal challenges from the inside out. I’m deeply grateful to everyone at Holina—the therapists, the support staff, and everyone involved in my recovery journey. Every person there played a part in helping me get clean and rebuild my life. The quality of care, the environment, and the overall experience exceeded everything I found elsewhere in Thailand, especially considering the price. I would highly recommend Holina to anyone who is considering taking that step toward a new way of life. I can’t thank them enough for the role they played in helping me recover. The support and services I received have kept me clean to this day and helped restore my sense of self. Holina will always hold a special place in my heart. — Jack Roberts (P.S. My Google account name shows “jack wacko,” but my name is Jack Roberts.)

I want to thank all of the staff at Holina for their care and support during one of the toughest journeys of my life. Through group work, individual counseling with my trauma therapist, and one-on-one sessions with so many talented holistic providers, they helped me heal in ways I never thought possible. I’m so thankful a friend believed in my ability to heal when I didn’t think it was possible and I’m so grateful to her for sending me to Holina. My treatment plan and day-to-day at Holina was individualized and tailored for me. My biggest and favorite breakthrough came through water therapy with my instructor, Siobhan. It was intensely intimate, and I learned to develop trust and heal in the warm pool with her gentle guidance and allowing myself to be supported was one of the hardest yet most healing experiences of my life. The inner peace I felt after those sessions is indescribable. It was the first time in a long time that I truly felt safe in my body and because of that I also experienced a spiritual awakening. Somatic work, massages, anquatic tuning and breathwork were all part of the program. I took advantage of the gym, yoga, qigong and muay thai too. We met with a monk every week and spent Saturday nights immersed in a sound bowl healing session. There is just too much to list. Holina wasn’t just about therapy, it was about learning to live again in the present moment. Each week, we took trips to incredible places, like the elephant sanctuary, where I got to witness the beauty of these gentle giants up close, and visiting different breathtaking beaches every weekend. It was truly a much needed reminder of the beauty in the world. The peaceful setting at Holina made healing easier. My room overlooked the beach. Waking up to the sound of the waves reminded me that healing is a process just like the tides which ebbs and flows. My room became a beautiful retreat where I could process, rest, and simply breathe and connect with my inner self. The entire staff, from my case manager Tanya to the amazing nurses, were always there when I needed support. The kitchen staff, some of the kindest people I’ve ever met, made sure every meal was delicious, nourishing and comforting. The front desk and housekeeping staff took such good care of my room and needs, even my laundry. They made me feel like I was the only guest. And the grounds were immaculate thanks to the grounds crew. I can’t forget about AK, excursions with him were always a fun time. He always took such good care of us and made sure we had fun. Beyond the therapy and structure, Holina gave me something just as valuable, a sense of community. I built friendships that I know will last a lifetime. We supported each other through the hard days, celebrated the small wins, and bonded over activities like kayaking at the beach or hanging out at the pool with everyone. Leaving Holina after two months, I am not the same person I was when I arrived, and I am so grateful for that. Today, I am proudly four months into my recovery journey and participating in Holina’s aftercare program. The journey of healing from my past has been difficult but for the first time, I feel ready. I can see the sun shining again. I hope this review helps anyone considering Holina.
