Dr. Toluy Özgümüş has graduated from Istanbul University, Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 2008 and completed his internal medicine specialty training at Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital between 2009 and 2013. He received his Hematology subspecialty training at Marmara University Hematology Department between 2014-2017; He performed his compulsory service at Kars Harakani State Hospital between 2017-2019. He worked at Sancaktepe Şehit Prof. Dr. Ilhan Varak Training and Research Hospital between 2019-2023.

He is experienced in the field of bleeding and coagulation disorders, especially coagulation disorders (thrombophilia), and has dealt with the diagnosis and treatment of more than 1000 patients. Since he worked in the pandemic hospital of the Anatolian side of Istanbul during the pandemic period, he has extensive experience in the hematological findings of Covid-19 infection and the management of Covid-19 infection in hematological diseases. Hundreds of patient experiences are available in the diagnosis of myeloproliferative diseases such as Polycythemia Vera and Essential Thrombocytosis, in their differentiation from blood cell elevations due to other frequently confused causes, and in their treatment. Assoc. Prof. Ali Eser received his medical education at Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine; He completed his internal medicine residency training at Istanbul Training and Research Hospital and his hematology residency training at Marmara University.

Afterward, he completed his compulsory service at Marmara University Hematology Clinic, firstly at Çanakkale University and then at Bezmialem Vakıf University. He served as a lecturer. After working as a hematology specialist and assistant physician in charge of the adult bone marrow transplant unit for 2 years at Hisar Intercontinental Hospital, he worked as a lecturer at Bezmialem Vakıf University and in the adult bone marrow transplant unit at Istanbul Yeniyüzyıl University, and finally for 1 year. He worked as the responsible physician of the adult bone marrow transplant unit at Liv Hospital Gaziantep Hospital for some time. He received the title of associate professor in March 2022.

El profesor Drach es especialista en oncología con un doctorado de la Universidad de Medicina de Viena. Tiene experiencia en investigación, medicina interna, oncología hematológica, nutrición y estilo de vida en cáncer. Es el Director de la Clínica Privada Josefstadt en Viena y miembro de la Junta Directiva de la Sociedad Austriaca de Hematología y Oncología. Ha publicado más de 120 artículos científicos y dado más de 200 conferencias/presentaciones.

Professor Santoro is heavily involved in research, with interest in many topics, such as the development of new cancer drugs and new biological therapies, interests for solid and haematological tumours, and not only he treats cancer survivors but also patients with comorbidities.

He has worked in Humanitas Research Hospital for 22 years. Professor Santoro’s post-graduate research was carried out at the Unité de Development Therapeutique (Institut de Cancerologie et d’Immunogenetique, Villejuif of Paris) from 1974 to 1975, and in the Division of Medical Oncology of the National Cancer Institute of Milan from 1976 to 1977. 

In 1977, he specialized in Clinical and Laboratory Haematology at University of Rome. In 1979, he completed his fellowship post-graduate work in the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center of New York and later, at Stanford University. In 1980, he specialized in oncology at the University of Genoa. 

Current Teaching Activity: Professor Santoro worked as Contract Professor at the Specialization School in Clinical Pathology ad Pavia University from 1992 to 1997. Also, from 1993 to 2002 he has been President of the Rare Tumour Group. Now he is full professor at Humanitas University. 

Current Positions: 

• .Since 1997, he is the Director of the Department of Medical Oncology and Haematology, at Istituto Clinico Humanitas, Milan. Also, he is Member of the Ethics Committee of Istituto Clinico Humanitas and Director of Clinical Research in the same Institute since 2007.
• - Since 2008, he is Member of the Planning Committee, Ministry of Work and of Health and Social Politics, Rome, Italy.
• - Since October 2008, Professor Santoro is Counsellor of the Board of Directors of the Fondazione Humanitas for Research of Rozzano, Italy.
